I am confused. The sire of the pup that we are looking at is online on pedigree search, but I can't find anything under his name, whereas I can find his brother and loads of pups/siblings/etc. under his name. Plus no pic, is there a reason for this? Should I be concerned?
Well the owner of the sire simply did not put him in the system.
Their are a lot of great dogs that are not in that system.
I don't think you should worry about it.Ask the breeder for some pictures and info of the sire you are looking for.

LOL!! Cheesecake underwater....I'm going to have to remember that one. Okay, so then what? When you are investigating a pedigree what do you do? Have the breeder fax it to me or what?

That's one way, Robbin.
A good breeder will usually have a "clickie" somewhere on their site with their dogs pedigree's.
And titles and OFA ratings/ numbers are also a plus to see directly on a breeder's site.
If you have to nag a potential breeder for a pedigree, that's not a very good sign in my opinion..........
Well I was gonna go that route but I'm glad you said it.I didn't know if I was going to get heat for saying a negative about that web site as far as the pedigrees data goes.

Get your info from the breeder himself,have him send it to you if he/she tells you to "search" it on a web instead,run the other way.
