I work with rehabbing rescue dogs - primarily cairn terriers who, of course not only bring along baggage, but also bring a true terrier attitude.
I've been trying to explain to someone the "white slice" or cutting of the eyes that one can often see given by one dog towards another one (or in some terrible cases, people). It is often a precursor body language to impending aggression.
I try to teach them to read the postures that happen even earlier than this one, but without a picture am finding an explanation of the "white slice" difficult.
I seem to be able to find photos of the "give me a break" white moon, but not the "back off right now or else" look that often includes a tilt of the head.
