If you are going to put up a tent for outside, you might want to consider giving them an area that is kept warm for them. To do this, take beans (like uncooked pinto beans) and put them in a ziplock bag. Put them in the microwave for a while and then wrap them (in the ziplock) in a blanket and put it in a corner of the tent. That way the pups can climb on and off it if they need added warmth. It stays warm for several hours and will help. Be sure it doesn't get so hot that you cook the puppies though.
Also, don't forget to put down newspapers - it is very important to keep the area clean.
Also be VERY CAREFUL to seal the tent completely so that the puppies can't escape on their own. They can crawl at this point and can easily become prey to an OWL.
If you want to leave the door to the tent open then line the tent with several 2x4's so that the puppies can't crawl out.
But really, it's only 8 weeks like you said, it's best for them to stay inside in a well regulated environment.
