Not having seen either the Sire (Kanto), or the Dam (Jutta) I can't make a comment. The only thing I would suggest is that you take a closer look past the four generations shown in the mating test.
If you go up to the sixth generation you will notice that the litter includes linebreeding 4,4-6,6 on Fero with it coming through Troll and Timmy on the Dam's side. There is plenty of debate on the subject of linebreeding on Fero on this forum that a search will provide you. I have personally found many of Kevin Sheldahl's contributions to the subject particular useful as they relate to his observations on many of Fero's progeny.
Michael,
I almost bought that dog, the dam Jutta back in September06, very nice drive , on the small size but nice female.I guess who ever bought her wasted no time to breed her.She has Mink in her pedigree and I liked that,my male yaggo has mink, pretty civil , very confident male.I would say go for it.Nice dogs.
I sent you a protection video I had of her on your e-mail adress, I just thought to if you want to see a better head shot of her let me know I have some good ones too.
My overall impression is neutral re Fero after reveiwing the posts. I read several posts cautioning re too much line breeing of Fero. I suspect this is true for any breeding with increased risk of unwanted recessive genes and traits appearing. I'm new at this, but it would appear that there is too much Fero, no matter your opinion of him, given 3-3 on sire, and 4, 4-6, 6 on dam. Any thoughts?
I have a Kanto daughter. She is very nice. I really enjoy her. I would recommend a Kanto puppy. I don't know anything about the Dam, but Kanto is very nice. Hope this helps.
Linebreeding is obviously important in establishing the desirable genetic traits that you want to reinforce in any breeding. It is only a bad thing obviously if you cross the line so closely as to be inbreeding, or if you linebreed on a dog whose traits are undesirabe.
If you have the opportunity to look at previous progeny that have been produced through an identical mating I think it couldn't help but be of assistance in making your final decision.
