We are feeding our 9 week old Aussie boiled chicken and rice (along with her meds) because of her coccidia and giardia. After this week of "bland", is it best to wean her back onto kibble? She was eating kibble before.
Thanks,
Mike

Just wondering if after going from Kibble to that bland diet (to help the digestive system heal), if it's a good idea to wean back onto the original kibble or if you can just start back on the kibble.
i.e. I know if you switch from one food to another, it should be done gradually. She was on kibble and got Coccidia and Giardia. It was recommended by the breeder and vet to put her on boiled rice and chicken while she got over the diarrhea caused by the parasites. She's about done with her meds, so we'll be feeding her the kibble again once her stools look better. I just didn't know if we should re-introduce the kibble slowly. I guess it can't hurt to do that.

Oh, I gotcha!
I would do the gradual switch you are thinking about, because I'd want to keep that system calm and unstressed after that intestinal stress. I'm with you.
