As sad as the dogs looked I'm just as shocked that they allowed this clip on the Net. Security Forces are special group designated to protect high profile / risk areas. It appears there entire squad was in the beginning clip. Sounds harmless but it could give the wrong people the wrong type of information about their location and readiness, not to mention could give their description and what they do in that area. Not the smartest thing in my opinion. One thing for sure if it were my guys I would have a major problem with it.

Some days you're the dog, and some days you're the hydrant.
The belt is basically an e-collar on the flank/groin.
I think it's pretty sad when you have to resort to that kind of treatment to get your point accross. An e-collar around the neck is not enough..
As for the clip(the military one) it look as if the decoys were not real decoys, maybe some guys trying out( for a laugh) to see what it felt like so they used (looks like to me) old working dogs.
idont know what ican say on the net.
iwill just say that you shouldnt think low of your mariens. they have higher abillitiets than that.
maybe its afroud maybe its one bad unit there is, presented here icant say.
but you have athing or two to be proud of that can not compare to what we saw in that film.
about Joâo Lopes Martine Loots and A'tim (the dog in the other video).
inever met tham face to face but ihade some coresponded with tham and iv seen some of they work and idont think that they whould use extra corection if theres another option and its not the first time isee that use with ecollars and some vets even promised me that its even abit safer there than on the neck.

Bit off topic but an explanation is due. A'tim is a very dominant dog. Any "correction" comming from the decoy and not the handler will result in him going into a fight with the decoy. To avoid this the "correction" has to com from the handler, who is standing behind the dog. thus the e collar has to be at the back end. 2 possibilities tail or loin. Martine choses loin.
I believe the loin collar is reserved for only the hardest of dogs. I guess it beats having to stick an electric probe into a dogs' mouth to get him to out like some operational forces do.
Sefi, I agree that there are some good dog units in our military. If these guys were just goofing around then they should have posted a disclaimer or something so that there is no speculation. Goofing with untrained dogs is fine. Service dogs acting like that, is not. Just sayin'.
iknow that if any of my unit where ever did that kind of "goofing" and post it in public and with they face on it they where probably whould got kicked out from service and pot to trial especialy if it where areal service dogs like you said
and areal soliders.
damn ihope its even not they famliey dogs...
but the guys iknew from your army wasnt like that at all and dont deserevd to pot on this comparison from that tape to a'tim clip.
look maybe im not aside on this issue and maybe my homur is abit lousy.
and realy maybe my personal intreset where to post here agreat imagge film of my israeli unit in action with the said the i.d.f rocks...
but the few guys iknew from your marienes whould never post that kind of clip (they probably not alowed to post good ones either) and do not deserved that kind of cynical comparison.
I understand what the belt does , I just think you send a dog for a fight and he is supposed to stop like a robot on an out command, when the dog does not come off fast enough we use more serious tools like an e-collar, ect.. .I think sometimes we are asking a bit too much out of a dog, dominant or not JMHO.But I understand why it is used.
To a dog of that hardness, putting the collar on the flank on maximum is the same as putting it around the neck on minimum on a soft dog. Dogs feel differently to us. When you are harsh with a dog it is because it is the minimum correction that dog needs to feel it and understand it. If it was that painful to the dog, he would let go for alot less.
I suppose so Mike, I guess I am softy when it comes to the E-collar ,I try to use it as less as possible, but I know I don't have the kind of dogs with that kind of dominant caliber that needs those hard corrections.I don't think I could handle a dog like that.
