I currently have a divider in my dog's crate.
If only during the day I remove the divider and place a pee pee pad at the end (cuz I can't make it home to let him out, no i dont have any friends or neighbors that can either). Then at night and when I'm home and he's in the kennel remove the pad and put the divider back up....is this a good strategy?
Or am i teaching him bad habits? But right now he goes in his kennel probably cuz he can't hold it. so i'm already teaching him something bad or will he hold it cuz he won't want to soil himself once eh actually can hold it?
He's a maltese/shihtzu 12 weeks pee is about only a tablespoon. in kennel about 5-6 hours.
Or is it better to put raised flooring in until he can hold it?
Bad if you ask me. This is teaching it is ok to go inside. Keep divider in and if you have no other options but to leave for 5 6 hours take your chances if it does pee make sure to clean well with simple solutions or natures miracle.I for some reason did not wake up last night to let my 9 week old out until 5:30 which was 8 hours since I had him out last and we had no accident and made a super deal of it when he went outside.
