2 for the Bloodhound
3 or 4 for the Malis and Dutch (depending on what we do for work for the day)
AND umpteen million for the Lab since he thinks that he has to pee AND crap to mark places. Cryin Out Loud
All but one are on RAW and that will be changing soon....

Buddy goes at least once and usually twice after each meal. Up until this weekend (he just turned 18 weeks old), we've been doing (3) meals/day approx 7 a.m., noonish, approx 5 p.m.
Now that we're doing (2) meals/day it is 7 a.m. and then sometime after 3 p.m. but before 6 p.m. (schedule permitting). The good news is that means only 4 big bowel movements instead of 6.
Since the RAW food diet my Shiba puppy goes twice day, once in the morning before breakfast, and once at night before bed and dinner.
The only time she indicates needing a lunch-time session (she is so lucky that I live 2 minutes walk from my work) is when she had THK Vege mix (with raw liver or hearts added).
By the way, Ed's suggestion to lavishly praise every 'potty' is on my top 5 list of useful tips from all o fEd's products.
I have been doing it since she was 8 weeks old, and now (6 months) she will do a bowel movement on command (unless she really isn't ready, which is usually cured with a quick run around the park).
I wish I could be as regular!
Also, I really appreciate the way dogs run around in a decreasing circle before dropping their load! It is a great warning sign and gives me enough time to get the tissue ready to place between her legs.
But, WHY do dogs do this????? Is it some insect to check if the ground is safe (snakes)?
