I can't advise you on that, I am not experienced enough, and know next to nothing about bringing up and/or traning a PPD. I will let more experienced people reply to you.
JMHO bitches usually get along with males better than a pack of males...But what do I know???I have a male and female yorkie that fight. Bad temperment of male is the problem...
as long as dogs are introduced appropriatly and have no bad temperment issues, I guess either could work. I have found that bad genetics cannot be trusted or trained out. JMHO
I would like to get a dutch shepherd, or a Mal for my protection work.
My current dog is the just not enough, the city I live in is going to crap, rapes, beatings, thefts all kinds of stuff going on in a small city. I have almost been attacked a few times in the last month for no reason.
I also own a retail store, and live in the back of the shop to protect from break in's.
I do not have experince in PPD, but I feel confident I can train a new puppy for this job. My current dog I got from the SPCA, when I got him he wouldn't eat, didn't trust and had aggression issue with animals. I'm glad to say after just over a year he is one of the best dog in my area. He's a great dog and he knows I am the pack leader that's for sure.
I also like the challenge that PPD would bring to me as a trainer, everyone has to start somewhere right? this could be first PPD of many that I have in my life.
thanks for the input, I will take it all into consideration!
