Can anybody recommend some good sources to purchase a plastic dog crate? I think the brand I want to purchase is Vari Kennel. I have looked at a few places but am not comfortable with ordering merchandise from websites I am not familiar with.
Petco has them but they are not the cheapest. I was thinking about ordering the XL Ultra.

I would try to find used first if I could. I was fortunate to have a nice personal inventory of dog crates already from previous times. And for the 1st (5) weeks we actually used the Kitty Crate for daytime use. In hindsight, we should have used it at nighttime too and perhaps put it in his nighttime crate.
Anyway, in my area we have "UNCLE HENRYS" Swap/Buy/Sell/Trade Magazine. There is also Craigs List (www.craigslist.com) that may have something for you. And of course the local paper.
Sometimes you can posted wanted items at your local petco or other animal supply store.
Another place to look is at your local SPCA or Humane Society, they often have used kennels (need to be sterilized before use and rinsed well!), some sell new ones too, I believe.
