I have been trying to find more detailed info about said Deux Pottois line. It seems like every serious respected Malinois Kennel in the world has a genetic link to Deux Pottois dogs.
Was Deux Pottois an actual kennel? There seems to be lot's of titled Mals with the Deux Pottois description at the end of their names.
Thanks in advance for any info or thoughts on my question.
Deux Pottois is no longer breeding dogs to my knowledge but you will easily find other kennels breeding out of those lines. But not all breeding programs are created equal. There are good breeders breeding those lines and bad ones, its all about the individual dogs

Intresting, I guess that is why whenever I google or other search engine 'Deux Pottois' It leads me to Joe Farm, Kaiserhouse or Ot Vitosha where my pups Dam is from btw.
I am just questing to find the history behind the name. As the name itself seems to point to a big part of the history of the Malinois dog itself I think. Anybody know the timeline or might have info on the players when they were in operation?
I read somewhere that the kennel was shut down by the FCI due to providing false papers on an export they sold. Do a search for the Belgian Shepherds web site and look into their archives. I believe the whole story is on that site.

Des Deux Pottois was operated by Luc Vansteenbrugge. From the KNPV pedigree site, Eik des Deux Pottois was one of the earlier dogs produced by D2P born in 1980 (I think), and shows up a lot on KNPV pedigrees. You will see D2P dogs everywhere FR, NVBK, KNPV, IPO. There is a lot of controversy about some of their dogs, G'Vitou specifically. You will see him a lot in pedigrees, but I've heard everything from him being sterile to just not being the producer he was put up to be. Mr. Vansteenbrugge's involvement in the NVBK & breeding FCI papered Malinois is what makes a lot of this interesting, as most NVBK dogs do not have FCI papers. He owned and handled G'Bibber, who many regard as one of the best producing Malinois in recent history.
Ivan B's foundation bitch was Nakita des Deux Pottois, whom he bought from Luc while he was living in Belgium. The USCA magazine had an article/interview with Ivan a few years ago relating the humorous purchase of Nakita.
Des Deux Pottois was definitely a prolific kennel and certainly was a big influence on the breed. I don't know for sure, but I think the last litters were produced in the mid to late 1990's.
