I posted this before, I would post a flag on the front porch that says "I Love my GermanShepherds" and a few bumper stickers that say the same thing, Maybe hang a couple of Jafco Muzzles on the fence post. Any dumbass jumping your fence will be removed from the gene pool and you'd be doing humanity a favor. The only other problem I see is kids. The only thing I could suggest is to get to know your nieghbors and let them know that your not sure how the dog is going to react to trespassers.
Mr. Eudy hits the nail on the head: "Many are the times that reason and logic take a back seat to reality, when it comes to legal matters."
One would think it a courtesy to advise a neighbor or a stranger of the presence of a dog. And maybe that is all a sign need note: "DOG" - but I don't think so.
My favorite sign has to do with the outline of a GSD with the caption: "I can make it to the fence in 2.8 seconds... Can you?"
However, the sad reality is that you post a sign implying anything about your dog, including noting you have one, and some idiot could turn it against you.

"I wouldn't touch that dog, son. He don't take to pettin." Hondo, played by John Wayne
The other day a UPS person opened my gate and put the package on the side of the house. You have to pull a rope to open the gate. The dogs have access to that side of the house, it's like a dog run. Luckily for them they were in the house at the time. The dogs go ballistic at the door bell so they knew there were dogs and there is a yellow german shepherd xing sign in the window. I have since bought a "Caution (pic of shepherd) at play" which I am putting on the gate. I know the UPS person meant well and had I gotten out of the shower quicker, I would have chastised them. We had a discussion at work of who would have been responsible had my dogs been outside and bit the dumbass. The gate now has a hole in the ground that the stopper goes into it and can't be opened from the outside. While looking for a good sign I found one on a site I couldn't find again that said either do not enter dogs loose or keep out dogs loose.
whether you post it or not u will be sued ! I live in ca. where eaven the police are sued every time they send their dog. Its just the way it is. the people with nothing to loose(the criminals) always have the upper hand.
