Iv'e just recently switched my GSD's to a raw diet. How much raw meat should they be getting and should they be feed once or twice a day??? They are 14 months old females.
Thanks,

At that age, I feed my dogs once a day. (I feed them just before my bed time as this is the most convenient for me and them).
There is not 'set' amount to feed when feeding raw, as every dog is different. I have 5 gsd's and each one gets different amounts depending on the dog , how they digest thier food, and what they do. My one dog eats approx. 1/2 the amount of another one even though they are only 15 lbs difference in their weight.
Unless your dog is a food hound, most will let you know when enough is enough. If they continually leave some food behind, cut back on it. Having said that, I do have one dog that will eat ALL that is set before him , and everyone else's if given the chance.
GENERALLY speaking a 70 lb dog would eat approx. 1 1/2 lbs of meat and 1 cup veggies. Your dogs are young still , so you want to make sure that they are getting enough protein. I do feed my older dogs more veggies and a little less meat.
It is very important that you feed a variety of meats.
