I'm wondering if anyone here has heard of/had experience with this herb in treating bone cancer. My Greyhound was diagnosed with bone cancer yesterday and isn't a great candidate for amputation. I've heard this herb could help a lot. Does anyone know anything about it?

Yes, I've been reading about it a little, but I thought it was a pain-management drug.... ?
Thanks ladies, for the kind words. I'm so sorry about your lab, Sandy. The article was great, Connie, thanks. My goal at this point is to maintain this guy comfortably for as long as possible, and it's sounding like this herb might be helpful. This is the first time I've ever had to deal with cancer in one of my dogs. It's so sad to see him otherwise so healthy and happy, knowing that he has something that will ultimately kill him.
Just a thought about any pain killer...ask your vet but it might be if the pain is sufficiently masked (don't know if that is possible) and the dog goes to run or do something beyond the limitations of the bone in his leg...well, just something you might keep in mind. That did not happen to our lab but am thinking it's possible.
Yeah, the vet said that the cancerous area would be much more prone to being broken as the cancer progressed. I believe she referred to it as a pathologic fracture. He's doing much better on the painkillers, but is still limping a bit so I know he's not too comfy. I think his discomfort will be intolerable before the cancer weakens the bone enough to break easily, but I'm keeping him as quiet as I can without taking the joy out of his last few days or weeks. Man, this is a horrible thing to go through.
