One of the most endearing things about MoJo, my last shepherd, was that when he was really happy, soooo happy sitting by my side being pet (usually upon first greeting from me getting home or something) he'd do this lil thing with his ear where it kind of crinkled and folded back inwards, can't really describe it...
Cato did the *same* thing today with his ear, I'd swear he was smiling too...it's almost like a blush thing.
Anyone else have dogs whose ears to this? Just curious.
ok...well, I was just wondering about that specific "body function" reaction. It was rare when MoJo did do it but funny you mentioned whining because MoJo was a HUGE whiner in the jeep on the way to go somewhere.
*Obviously*, crinkle folded ear = whiner...
My new pup here doesn't seem to be a big whiner. In fact, the longest he screamed in the crate at one shot was I believe 10 mins. and that was only the first 2 days. He tapered off that quickly and doesn't really whine. GOd, I don't want a whiner dog.
Sorry, the ear thing also seemed to be a reaction when he was glad to see me after being boarded-the whining was part of it.
They seemed to go hand in hand and I always laugh because he is this big "tough dog" and he's really a big baby. Of course, the rest of the time he's mean and ferocious
I do find it a bit endearing when he does the ear thing
