Yes, Danielle. People who feed raw generally feed chicken legs, thighs, wings, and necks. Meaty bones are one of the main components of a good BARF-type diet. I've not had a problem with either raw chicken or turkey necks with my dogs. Raw bones can splinter, but it's not as likely as with cooked bones. Even so, never leave your dog unattended while they're eating raw bones. It's best to supervise them while they're eating these, just in case.
I have seen problems with cooked bones (in other people's dogs) but not raw. Auster has had chicken backs, necks, etcs. turkey necks, lamb neck bones (a special treat) all without a problem. She's a careful chewer and doesn't gulp her bones. Okay, there was a problem according to Auster. She wanted more . Auster has problems digesting wheat, so I've made the transition to raw pretty quickly and she's doing wonderfully and is allowed on the beds at night again .
