I adopted my dog, Bella from a lady who recieved the dog as a gift, so she does not know the breeder. I have been in contact with the young man who purchased the dog, and he said he would look for the number, but I am not too confident about him finding it. Is there any way to determine the dogs bloodline even though I don't know the parents?
Closest you can come is an educated guess as to whether working lines, show lines or american lines.
The only remote possibility is that AKC might have a way to check it with DNA if the parents are registered with AKC with the DNA program, which is unlikely but a remote possibility. Other than that you're out of luck.
I was afraid of this, I am just glad someone knew the answer!
I am going to try to find the original ad that this person responded to, and contact the breeders myself. I will have to go through a bunch of old papers to do this, but I think it is worth it! Wish me luck!
