I would like to report to those of you who read my post "new puppy no drive", That we had a huge day today and he's starting to come around.
I have spent the last 24hours ready Ed's e-books like they where going out of style. I have a question I hope someone can answer!
In his e-book he talks about putting the puppy in the crate and that if he is good in the house he will allow his puppy to lay at his feet. He said he does this because he wants to be the center of the dogs universe. Will this affect his independance? He is very independant which is a good thing for a dual purpose prospect. The last thing I want is for the puppy to never leave my feet, but in the same respect I want to build the bond between us.
I raise this question because I have a 8 month old GS who is currently going track work and ready to start narcotics training but he never wants to leave my side. I dont want this to happen with the new pup!
