I just wanted to jump in to say I agree with Deanna. My working line GSD loooked very "east-west" as a little pup, but he also looked narrow chested. Just now at 18 months with his rib cage & chest starting to fill out his feet are now facing ahead when he stands As I recall my Tiekerhook dog went through the same stage, as did my previous GSD. As to this being a deciding factor in whether he is bred or not, I would hold off until I saw his adult conformation.
