Hi everyone,
I have 2 female cc, the one that i got when she was a pup (the other one has just been with me for 6 months - got her when she was 1,5 year) is doing really good in training. even before she was born i knew my next dog would be a cc and my goal with her would be to do some IPO trials.. well, she is now 1,5 year old and still have a lot of training left - but you can check her out in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q07QRyLA2aw
when she was a pup, she had no preydrive - or i can honestly say that she had no interests or drive at all! but we have built it up, and today, well you can see for yourself..
why she is like crazy on the leash is my fault, i have problems with standing still with her, she is really strong.. You can se that she bites full, and has a nice grip, she just needs to put her feelings in oreder and sort out when to be in preymode, or when to bark at the decoy. and i agree with you guys that also know about the rottie - they mature late!
my other female was just not interested at all when we first started her, but now she starts up, barks a bit and even hold her grip to put up a little fight with the decoy to get the item she wants. we will continue with her training by doing her more interested on the prey, then we will test her in a couple of months again.
the sad part is that Im not allowed to compete with my cc´s in sweden, but perhaps that is a nother topic
I know this thread was a bit old, but i couldnt resist sharing my video and little stories about "non-capable" dogs *s*
