My 14 year Dog Charlie has a Pancreas Problem he was very ill the other day and i thought i was going to lose him. The Vet took a bloodtest which showed he did have a problem also his thyroid is being treated for prior to this but the test for this is not yet back to see if it has gone up
The Vet suggested trying him on some pain killers and a Diet of Low Fat Food, He suggested Royal Canine digestive low fat. in tins, I gave him half a tin this morning and he ate it up, The Vet gave him a couple of Jabs and some pills to give him, He said to go this way to start and see how he goes on, if he does not improve to ger a X-Ray done to find out if there is something else, He has improved 100% since yesterday
Iread up on the Leerburg site on the Pancreas Problems i only hope it is nothing too bad inside

Hello Sandy, yes he is getting Old, The Vet prescribed Metacam tablets one a day 2.5mg which reduces pain and inflammation, at the moment a weeks supply he said to see how he is at the end of this week
He has eaten 645 grams of the tinned Royal Canine digestive low fat food in two meals today, so i am pleased with that, he has never been a big eating dog.
His Stools are firm enough and he has been three times today, He only went once yesterday
his Urine is a little darker than normal,
He cannot walk far because he gets out of breath this has been since we found out about his Thyroid problem, and i expect his heart is a little weak as well
