when we go camping I package up all of my dogs meals and freeze them and store them in a separate cooler. I rotate the bags through the freezer in our camper, so nothing completely thaws til I am ready to feed. The best thing about these bags is that they do not leak when you are thawing them.
That is a huge plus in my book, especially when the dog food is in the same cooler or fridge with our food.
Do ya'll have any problems with liquid that may still be on the meat when you seal it? Or do you just make sure it is as dry as you can get it before you seal?
I'll definately take a closer look at Food Saver brands.

It has a choice for sealing moist items such as meat. You can stop the vaccumming(?) before it gets too tight (sucks out the "juice")and seal then. I do this with marinades too. It is not sucked extremely tight, but nice and does not leak. If I want to be sure I will double seal about 1/2 inch apart. It also has a little place to catch drippings during sealing, and you can put a little rolled up paper towel in the slot to help catch drips if you want or just clean it when you are done.
I haven't used or even seen one, so had no idea how it worked or coped with problems like liquids. A hunting magazine I read said they had problems with moist items, but it wasn't the same machine ya'll referred to.
