I'm starting to switch my girl over to a half raw diet, i'll feed raw in the AM and kibble in the PM for the moment. I've been reading the board and have learned a lot. I bought some chicken wings to start her on, and will be feeding her some yogurt and pumpkin and probably some eggs the first week, and see what happens...does this sound allright? I stopped at the commissary tonight to see what they had...not a whole lot of choices, turkey and chicken, beef is very expensive, but they also had rabbit...does anyone know if this is a good meat to feed? It's very expensive but I was just wondering if I came across it cheap.
Also, they had pigs feet and hocks, and smoked pork knuckles. Are these okay?
Smoked bones are a disaster. They are about the same as a sterilized bone. I just spent several hundred dollars on dental work for Auster after she chipped a tooth on a sterilized bone that I thought I had thrown away.
