Does anyone have any good advice on doggie doors? We have one but it is the one that you put in the patio door. The hair builds up on the track, it's not very weatherproof, the wind cause the door to suck out or in, you can't use the screen door on the patio door...you get the point. I'd like something more secure and something more weatherproof. I'd like to put it in the wall too. Any ideas out there?
Ed doesn't like them. But I am also going to be looking for one. I had the "Sliding Glass Door Insert" model, but it looks bad and doesn't work very well. Plus the door doesn't really "lock". Not that it matters when you have a 100 pound dog, people can fit through the door
I think we will install one in the wall. Cut through the stucco and frame it up against the house.
If people really want in the house I guess I'd rather they crawl through the door than break a window.
Robbin, here's a link to a company that sells them here in Phoenix and installs them in surrounding cities (don't know you'd qualify as a "surrounding city" http://www.fancypaws.com/dogdoors1.html

You can get locking doors too. You put a special tag on your pets that is battery operated. It unlocks the door when the pet gets close so only your pets can come through. Without the activation of the tag, the door stays locked.

That is the one by brother-in law has at his house here in AZ, i will see if i can get him to send me the link to where he got it. It works great and he hasn't had any problems with weather getting into the house.
The maximum kilobyte size of a sig photo is 35 kb. Rob's pic is coming in at about 179 kb. I don't think the physical size is mentioned in the rules but it would be good not to have to scroll sideways to see the entire picture.
