I am going to answer before it gets locked ......yes ALL involved are stupid.
I am more outraged at the family for assuming the dog was dead and that they ran and hid without checking the dog.

mmmm, I am not sure, but I am thinking that it might be a little sad for Turkey Day.....not a big deal I don't think......
Now your job is to find a Happy one....this one really made me mad....that cop should be reprimanded for that and obviously needs more training with a rifle.

Hi Steve,
I think Carol is refering to a few previous posts people have put up about animal cruelty that were locked by Ed saying that he didn't want those types of stories on his site as this was a dog training site. Or something along those lines. Not quoting him directly I just recall seeing something about it.

Is it something I shouldnt have posted Carol?
Wendy and Carol are right; they are recalling that we had a huge rash a while back of almost-daily posts concerning terrible news stories about dogs (and unfortunately, they were largely about Pits), and Ed noted that they, and some horrific cruelty stories, were starting to take over the forum.
So no, Steve, it was nothing at all against you that the thread was locked.
It's just an effort to limit news stories for a while to something constructive, informative ...
I know that everyone is as outraged as you are.
But maybe it's best, with news stories, unless your story is clearly informative or instructional, to run it past any mod first.
And as Carol mentioned, maybe we can actually come up with some good news stories involving dogs. We've had a couple .... harder to find, with the way the media choose to follow the "bad news sells" motto ....
