Ok, now Sabian's only having one BM per day. the amount has dramatically decreased since I went off kibble. But now whats there has been watery for the past few days, and he's stooped going three times a day. Just once. Is this abnormal?
Watery stools are not normal. Less volume of stool is one of the major perks of raw. BMs are WASTE product- and less BM means less stuff the body can't use.
Your situation sounds similar to what happened with my adult dog the first week I switched him from kibble to raw. It was suggested to me that I give him a couple of table spoons of 100% pure pumpkin mixed with plain yogurt. It worked great -- by the next day, normal stools. Now anytime my dogs have watery BMs I give them pumpkin and it really does seem to help.
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Thanks. the watery stool has stopped. i'm still amazed at the lack of waste. I took a sample to my vet, about 1/3 cup of stuff. I think she thought that was a sample of the stuff, but that was all there was!
Your dogs watery stools are due to constipation and is the bodys way of getting that crap out. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> Pumpkin(fiber) will help, but look at preventing the constipation in the first place. Make sure your dog is getting enough veggie mix or increase meat/muscles to bone ratio. Every dog is different so play around with the balance of ingredients.
