I am keeping Koda (11 mos) on 6% until she starts gaining fast, then I will back her off. Being this is my first pup, on all raw, I want to make sure I can safely back off and not cause any problems.
I'm thinking that you go by the looks of the dog, puppies or adults, right? I mean, the percents are good starting points, and then you just watch the dog's body..... puppies too... ?

Pretty much, one rib when calm and ribs when running and playing. Also, their flank area and muscle tone as well.
mmmm, puppies I like to see a couple more pounds on, but I make sure they get exercised well.

Yeah. Macy shows about a rib when mostly still. Ok, well I wont' worry too much. I will increase her red meat intake, and leave all the skin on her RMB's.
My goal is to keep her as trim as possible, but having never raised a raw pup I don't want to underfeed to the detriment of her growth. I said that already. I'm going to stop worrying about it and just feed her :p

Well I'm upping her to 3 pounds a day and I'll see how that goes for a few days, with the goal of keeping her as light as possible.
I put her kale in (non-glop) to see what she'd do, and she ate about 60% of it. I sort of expected her to just nose around it.
I forgot to say that spinach and chard should be limited. Kale was probably a great choice. :> I use tops from bok choy, and celery tops, carrot tops, romaine....
