...Alex, I'm wondering how your Boxer handles the cold weather. How long can she stay outside before getting cold and do you find it difficult to get her enough exercise in the winter? I have an older computer so I couldn't see the videos, but I was thinking that she probably was running and jumping for a short period of time. What do you do with her on other days? sorry if this is off topic.
Angela, my Boxer loves the colder weather. At Schutzhund training, she would go flat easily during the summer mos. Beginning in Oct, she is like the energizer bunny. I'm sure she breathes much better in the cold. In the videos, she is jumping in the air catching snow from a deck, and also playing with a spring pole I made her. The spring pole gives her great exercise. You can really start to see it in her shoulders, chest and legs. On other days, we usually go for a 2-3 mile jog.
Thanks! Sounds just like a dog I fostered last year. He would walk backwards in front of me, staring at my feet, hoping I'd kick some snow up for him to catch. Aren't dogs funny?
