I am considering moving overseas in the next year and trying to plan ahead for the benefit of my pup. Australia still has quarantine laws (30 days minimum) which are heartbreaking for me to consider but what worries me more is the fact that I will have to get him vaccinated for everything (had planned to keep him vaccine free other than rabies since it is common where I live). Is there a good way I could go about getting his shots more 'safely'? I don't think all in one go sounds promising. How long should I wait between shots? Is there a preferred order to get the shots done?
I was surprised as well, had always thought the UK was the strictest and even they now let you home quarantine instead of kennel at a government facility.
From the Australian quarantine law site daff.gov.au:
Dogs must be vaccinated against distemper, infectious hepatitis, canine parvovirus (parvo), para-influenza and Bordetella bronchiseptica (kennel cough).
Thanks for the reminder about the chip, he came chipped but it's something small like that I'd probably miss! Planning on hiring a company to do the paperwork and actual travel arrangements at least.
