I have been looking online for a good, comprehensive book specifically about GSD's. I have 2 or 3, and they all seem to have the same information (basic stuff like grooming, history of the breed, jobs the GSD is used for, etc). However, I'm looking for something much more comprehensive. I saw a book called The German Shepherd Book, First Edition, by Susan Barwig and Brenda Abbott (552 pages). It looks interesting, but it was written in 1986. I am sure there must be something comprehensive, but more recent. A lot changes in 20 years, as far as training methods, diagnosing/treating medical problems, etc.
Can anyone recommend a good book that covers most all topics re: GSD's?
I'd be interested if anyone has any decent ones that aren't completely geared for American showlines. I've occasionally seen the working line difference thrown in as a side note, but aside from Schutzhund books, all of the ones I've seen have been Am showline-based.
