I had Tessa out this morning and she has torn the skin off of her pad - like she skinned it. I think it was because the ground was frozen this morning.
How do I treat this? I have currently wrapped it w/neosporin and she isn't bothering with it. Is it better to leave it open?
She didn't complain when she did it or when I touch it, so I don't think she is in pain, but then again she isn't one to complain.
neosporin i keep a tube with me all the time.My dogs would chew the bandage off but at least get some on the wound it wont take to long to soak in if you warm it its more liquidy and easier to rub in sure the dog will lick it but the med did satuate some, do it for a week.Your on the rite track love that puppy
Thanks! She actually did end up chewing off the bandage, but I put more neosporin on and will continue. There is a piece of loose skin, but I'm not going to fuss with it. I think it will dry up and fall off naturally.
It is my opinion that just like us it will at least the neo will keep some moisture on it.Been use neo on me and my dogs for years (hypothesis) look at those alert ears she is soo pretty
