About an hour ago fargo had what I would call a blow-out
I had him loose for a little bit in the house to play and he was in the hallway playing with his tennis ball.
I heard what sounded like the water dish getting knocked over so jumped up to grab towels.
But instead of the water bowl he had pooped. It must have all come out at once and with pressure, and There was a lot of it.
It was yogurt consistency, not watery at all but not pudding either. His last poop before this one was about noon, it wasn't logs, they never are yet, but it was firm and shaped and acceptable.
It was smelly but not parvo smelly, or really sick dog smelly, just runny poop smell, and the Albon has been making his gas and poo stinkier than normal, like rotten eggs.
It was also on the rug which I threw out, it wasnt worth it to try and clean that off the 20 dollar runner
He doesnt seem sick at all, he was playing fine when it happened and is fine now, bouncing all over and perky just like normal.
He is also hungry, he keeps standing at the door to the kitchen and telling me about it.
He just finished his Albon 2 days ago for the coccidia and is due to go in friday for a re-check.
I tried not to worry but forceful poo like that in a pup worries me.
I guess im not sure where the line is with pups and diarrehea, when to really worry and when to let it wait.

I'd get a fecal (even if it's a second one), keep him hydrated, and call the vet Monday a.m.
Or tomorrow if you see blood or he acts sick or he becomes dehydrated).

first bit of blood and hes off to the E-vet.
He needs a second fecal anyway to recheck.
I gave him too much cheese one night when we were working on being ok with my parents and it soured in his tummy and came back up, he acted sick and miserable and pitiful afterwards and didnt want to eat.
Tonight it was like nothing happened, didnt slow him down a bit, his water drinking has also decreased a lot since getting rid of the remaining parasites and finishing the Albon, he is no longer obsessive about the water bowl.
I do have pedialyte on hand if need be.
Could it possibly be his little body flushing the rest of the nasties out?
But he is acting hungry hungry, should i give him just a little with some pumpkin or leave it till morning?

I would give him water, but no food for 12 hours.
I'd probably skip yogurt, too, just for now, since he has had one milk-product reaction.

I would say to feed him just a little with the pumpkin. There might be be less mess if has another bout overnight. (Edit #2 If Connie thinks he shouldn't have food I will not argue, that would probably be the safest coarse to go with. I'm probably giving in to the hungry puppy face when I say feed him a little.)
Extra yogurt/probiotics would be a good idea after all the Albon, etc. (Edit: I didn't see Connie's post when I wrote this, I would agree with her on not giving the yogurt.)
I wouldn't panic with just a drop or two of blood in his stool if he's acting alright otherwise and the stool isn't very dark. Just get the fecal done soon.

Edit reason: cuz I can't spot everything in one edit and I must do it again.

the cheese was velveeta, and before christmas...does velveeta actually count as a milk product, or as cheese lol.
i gave him a spoonful of pumpkin and about 5 bits of kibble when we were working on "touch" before i read the response, but thats it.
Hopefully it wont be enough to bother his tummy again.

He seems fine and dandy, he has been his usual monster of a puppy.
But he seems like he is STARVING, I havent upped his food amount by much because i really dont think he needs much more and we have been taking it easy the last couple of days, but breakfast and lunch today he was making little piggy noises and while he ate and licked the bowl totally clean...twice.
His potty was not as firm as I would like, no logs for sure, but it never really has been, but it wasnt soft or runny at all either.
Im going to see if we can bump his appointment up to monday or tuesday and I suspect he will need another round of Albon or something similar.
