I have a ? about bite training my 8 week old GSD puppie. When I play with him with his tug(or a ball or a puppie rope ext.) he dose doog with his drive and realy go's ofter that toy, but than when he realy gets into it he stops going after the toys and he go's after my pants. Not matter what I do, when he gets realy exited he completly ignores the toy (no matter what toy I use), it's like it's not even there and thean he go's wild on my pants.I make sure not to move my legs at all but he still dose it. I will move the tug just like Ed said on his bite training puppie video and he loves it but than he will stop and turn around and start doing a holl mouth bite on my pants and shaking his head violently. What dose this mean? I don't mind that he go's aftre my pants but how do I do my bite work and help his drive this way?
And he loves to chase the tug when I pull/drag it but when I throw it he just looks at it, what dose thid mean? in every other way he seems to have a very stong pray drive but than why dose he not go after things when I throw it? I don't understand this! And sens he dose not go after things that I throw I realy wanted to work on this with his tug but than the biting pant thing comes in. What do I do???
This is a normal behavior. I've seen Cindy's puppies doing it to her in one of videos . What toys are you using? Have you tried a rag? A plain old rag that was torn from clothes or whatever?

Use a ball for throwing so it rolls. Don't just throw it out somewhere, start the ball rolling from the pup's feet and roll it across the ground so he sees it moving away from him and will be more inclined to chase it. Once he gets used to that, you can start the ball rolling from a little distance away from him. But for now, start it at his feet and roll it away from him.

ROTFL! That probably isn't much fun but it sounds soooo cute!
