I really like the idea of a partenership between a holistic and traditional vet. Being as they are working together under one roof you don't have the huge hassle of dealing with 2 different hospitals and having to hear your holistic vet's methods bashed by a skeptical traditional vet.
There's a new holistic vet in my area who is said to be wonderful. Only problem is she doesn't do surgeries, doesn't have x-ray, and I don't think she can hospitalize. So for anything serious or major, when I'd really want her input and oversight, I'd have to be referred elsewhere. Not so wonderful after all.
Does the holistic vet have any recommendations for a traditional vet that she likes, or even better, works with? That's how I found out about the traditional Dr. (Dr. Coles). She had left me a v/m saying she only did holistic, and that she usually isn't someones primary veterinarian, but she'd love to speak w/me if I was interested in learning more. So I called her back to get a recommendation, and found out she works w/Dr. Coles. Maybe at the very least the holistic vet in your area can recommend a traditional vet who isn't totally opposed to holistic medicine.
