Thanks. He seems to be feeling better. I haven't seen anything I would call cloth pass, just some grassy looking fibers. He had a fairly normal poop today, a little soft and small. I fed him meat only yesterday and this morning, but tonight gave him a chicken quarter. I don't know if that grassy/fibrous thing was what she saw or not. It wasn't very big though...
He is eating and drinking again, and no signs of discomfort. I'm watching his every move. The vet said if I didn't see anything in a couple of days to call.
Not sure how relevent this is, but I used to have issues w/ my son & constipation/withholding BM's. I gave mineral oil daily for probably a month, just not the same time as him eating because of the vitamin absorption thing.
I may be wrong, but I think the mineral oil does not break down in the gut/intestines like olive or canola.
It is a great lubricant. I would have no qualms about giving it to my dog for purposes of passing a foreign object. I would not squirt it into the mouth though, becasue if aspirated it can be very harmful to the lungs. Better to put it on rice or something somewhat absorbent and let the dog eat it...JMO

Good points. I guess I better start cooking up a little rice. It's worth a try. He really seems like he feels better though. You should have seen him that night, here is a pic in the car on the way to the vet. He rode like that the whole 20 min. or so drive, eyes shut.
Now he seems almost himself. Could it still be in there, and him feel this much better? I have been, um, smooshing everything that comes out so as not to miss anything. Could it have maybe been passing through a smaller section of gut, and causing severe distress, and maybe now is in the larger part (colon) and just hanging out, but not causing pain?
maybe... I dont know, the socks never made it all the way to Levi's colon, he always puked them up, sometimes several at a time. Papertowels did pass though and whole so I think maybe they spread out from the ball or wad to a more easy to pass shape once in the large intestine because well.... he looked like he had a Butt flag waving in the breeze a few times
I just looked at that picture and Awww poor baby, he looks so miserable. at least he does a good job of letting you know when he doesnt feel good!

Shody,
If you haven't seen it then I'd assume it's still there.
A client's dog had a small bit of corn cob stuck in her gut for a month. Dog was perfectly ok for weeks and then suddenly started acting really ill.
If it doesn't make an appearance in a few days you might want to consider having another x-ray done to verify. I'm glad he's feeling better but if it shifts again he may be back to feeling miserable, or you may have an emergency.
