If you really want to know what is wrong with your dog, he must be taken someplace for some xrays. If those don't bring any proof of whats wrong then you will have to hire more diagnosic proceedures. Bottom line.
Sounds to me like an elbow dysplasia, an unattached anconeal or an un-united medial epicondyle. Yeah, I looked that one up. However I have been familiar (unfortunately) with the de or unattched anconeal in the past. It's not the end of the world, just something to deal with is all....after surgery.
Get the dog to the xray machine.
