at my grocery store they sell fresh tripe that has only been washed out, but still has some blood, and hasnt been bleached. Is this nutritious for my dog? I heard earlier that the bleached stuff is basicly chewy cardboard with no real value. So is this stuff ok, oor still devoid since it doesnt have juices?
It has some nutritional value but not the type of enzymes you need. I would go with the "green tripe" it has all the gastric juices, enzymes, a k9 needs if you are looking to better your dogs diet.
I have actually roasted that type of tripe(washed)in the oven until crispy , cut it up,and used it on my track, I have to say it was a very successful tracking day!
Love your signature photo...
Ah, so I could use it as motivational food but not to rely on it for nutritional value....
the photo- I was so elated to finally get a good picture! nothing can do her justice, Ive been taking em for years but I wanted somethings wall worthy to immortalize that gal
yes, I think if you are looking for the "benefits" green tripe offers to a canine then go with that exactly but with washed/bleached tripe you can use it as treats, now so you know when I cooked them in my oven i layed htem flat so that they would get crispy and I put Olve oil on them BUT so you know it will not smell as if something real delicious is baking it does have a bit of a "tripe smell" nothing too bad but I thought I would pass that on to you...
