I started my dog on a raw diet about six months ago. It was an easy transition and he looks and feels great, his shining teeth and coat and increased stamina are obviously due to his eating raw. But I am wondering if a raw diet is responsible for clean ears too.
Every Spring for the past 7 years he would get a lot of wax build up in his ears. It never bothered him, it was just another extra bit of grooming for me. It has not happened this Spring, as a matter of fact, he has little to no wax.
I figured it was a seasonal sensitivity since it occurred in Spring but now I am wondering if it had something to do with his diet?
I remember reading that cleaner ears were a benifit to going raw. If I hadn't loaned my raw feeding books out (to make more converts), I'd try to find some quotes for you.

When my french bulldog got raw, we forgot about ear infections that had been a problem for several times. He ate kibble as a youngster and at some point I tried raw feeding. At this point he still had an infection and when we went to the vet, he told that this was the reason. I didn´t let it confuse me and after some time the ear problems that had been torturing us every once in a while, just vanished. Yes, I think raw feeding was the key to that.
