I'm moving into my new place this weekend, and I need to get a fence up. I cannot do chain link or certain types of wood privacy fence that's visible from the road, due to association regulations.
My thought is those aluminum panels that look like wrought iron. However, my pup is only 12 weeks old, and I think he can still squeeze through those. Any recommendations?
Looked very very nice, but it cost alot to do a relatively small yard in the back, which is the downside.
Is your pup a GSD? If so, at 12 weeks old I doubt he can squeeze through. I had my pups fenced with that stuff at 8 weeks old and they never even bothered trying. I was always outside with them to distract them if they were to try anyway.
Can you buy chicken wire or something similar to tie around the bottom part of the fence until he gets older? shouldn't be that visible, and anyway it's only temporary.
Other option - keep him on a long line for a couple months. ???
I just read this after spending a day putting black plastic chicken wire with black zip ties on the bottom of my wrought iron fence (looks just like the above picture).
The wrought iron fence kept my GSD in when he was a puppy. However,my newly acquired Jack Russel was able to squeeze through. I have tested it out and so far it works. I had to use about 600 zip ties to make sure it was tight and secure.
I got the material at Home Depot. You can also use a roll of black plastic gutter guard. The cost was about $14 for a 15 ft roll 3ft high.
