I have been back in town with bruiser for about 2 1/2 weeks give or take. Anyway I have started to notice that if he is not done doing his bussiness outside he wont want to come in.
What I mean by this is that when I go to take him in he will pull the other way. To go back out.
But he still has his mess ups in the house completly my fault.
Does he know he is suposed to use it outside.
And he does not have a sign to tell me in the house yet.
He has started doing this more and more in the past few days.
thanks in advance
My interpretation is that he wants to stay outside. Do you immediately bring him in after he does his business? If so he has it figured out. Any dog I have ever known prefers the big outdoors with their owner to inside with their owner. I think he might be holding off on going to lengthen his time outside.
I like to praise like crazy and then engage the pup for a few minutes in a little play time so they don't associate doing their business with end of outside time.
Also, when returning to the house, I will give a treat or some petting, just a little something motivating to make coming in pleasurable and not a disappointment.
Yes in the past week or so I have had to bring him in due to this out of control dog that try to attach him.
I have kicked the dog talk to owners they dont care they are drunks. this happened the next day after he bit me. I really did not get hurt because I grabbed his snout and squeezed the hell out of it and he took off
I got bit and called animal controle and nothing ever happen. The day he bit me I had phoenix and bruiser and was walking them. lucky for me bruiser and phoenix knew to stand directly behind my feet.
So I close my leg together to protect them.
I do take pepper spray outside with me now. But I am not to good at it cause phoenix got sprayed some how this morning.
The dog has not tags it is a little dog the same size as phoenix but he is mean. I am calling animal control again this morning.
I do take him in the back yard to play after he goes potty in the front and I pick it up.
Ok I know it is sunday but I got lucky animal control came to my house and we talked for a while about what was going on.
He did not see the dog out tel right when I went outside with bruiser at the end of the conversation.
He took the dog and went and put on note on there door to show up at animal controle tomorrow.

Good.
Now what you'll want to concentrate on is having your dog outside when he needs to be so that he cannot reinforce the indoor-potty habit.
When he wakes up, after all play sessions, after meals and drinks of water ... and also a little log will tell you when his normal poop time is.
How does he make a mess inside? I know you know about tethering, and no opportunities to make mistakes.
Set him up to succeed. Don't make him have to go indoors. When he does go outdoors, party!
It might be helpful to have his leash right by the door, always ready to clip it on quickly and go outside.

P.S. I received very good advice last year from a forum member to get two containers of pepper stuff and use one for practice: Practice getting it out quickly and practice with my aim.

Well when I just get up in the morning.
I feed him and phoenix in there kennels. when there done they both come out for a little while 20 minutes while I clean the rabbit cage.
So It is my fault he is leashed to me the rest of the day we go out every hour

Maybe he could go potty outdoors the minute he gets up..... and then have his food in his kennel?
A brisk little walk around the yard can help trigger the peristalsis (just like his breakfast is doing it now).
