Where I live, the mosquitos are crazy right now.. I am just curious how these mosquitos affect a dog. (A large German Shepherd) Can the mosquitos get through all his fur and bite him? He is outside quite a bit and he never seems to be scratching at mosquito bites...

The more it scratches the more hair loss. The more hair loss the less protection. Not to mention open wounds for other possible diseases. My dog has permanent scares on her ears from fly damage. Heart worms, as Connie mentioned, are the last thing you want for your dog.

The breach in protection from scratch wounds is often a gateway for bacterial infection and even skin yeast infection, as well as a serious quality of life problem.
