Alright so its time to start looking at continuing my education, and what i aim to do out side of the military in a few years.
Two things i know, i am not interested in going into law enforcement and then being a street cop until i can get into the K9 Section, and the other is i like working with animals.
I have come to the realization that i don't need to be a K9 Handler for the police to work a dog. In all actuality, i really want to go to Alaska and take up dog sledding (no experience with this at all.)
Through this line of thought i thought what better to be then a Park Ranger, or something along those lines. I am interested in working in the forest, and interested in working with animals.
So what exactly would help me as far as collage goes? Zoology? Forestry? Something completly different?
I have a friend who spent time working at a major provincial park here doing studies and counts, and now works in environmental assessment - not quite the same thing as being a ranger, though she does get to go to Northern Canada for weeks at a time (I'm very jealous). Her background is zoology.
I got a glance at some classes for Zoology and it mostly seemed that they where studying animals at a biological level rather then studying the animals them self. Or did i read wrong?
Just going off of the names of the degrees by them selfs Wildlife Science seems to be what i am interested in.
