Either way, not good. I wonder if this guy is being hung out to dry because of the attention, when he was just doing what the trainer in house told him to do though... I would hope that anyone at this level of handling would educate for himself, but sometimes people take the word of a senior person as gold, no matter how senseless it is. I say this because I have talked to some of the officers around here who have a very lousy k9 trainer, and they use some pretty senseless methods, then have some issues because of it. Nothing this bad, but a lot of counter-productive stuff. (Doing a drive building exercise, not realizing it builds drive, then correcting the dog because it is in a heightened state of drive, then wondering why the dog is obeying slower after the correction) When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.
