P.S. regarding the tent thing... having a tent fall on a dog is NOT fun! when that happened to me and Dillinger, i seriously had visions of Blair Witch in my head! he was the one screaming, but i was shaking like a leaf for an hour afterwords ! there were quite a few rips in my tent from that incident as well!! i wouldn't worry about her reaction to the collapse too much ... just remember it!
it really is for me i know how terrible, or angry, i would feel if the situation had been reversed. mind you, i think, based on past experience, that i'd do a better job of warding off a dog, but that's not really the point. actually, it's really nice, i found out that the man who had the dogs is actually the husband of my neighbour's cousin - we have a good relationship, so when she heard about it, she actually supported me. didn't excuse me, but she did support me, which meant quite a bit to me actually.
i'm glad to know teagan's not the only dog that will react that way. i'm going to get a heavier 3-man tent, still light (moving from the tarptent to the big agnes seedhouse SL3 - i have the SL1 and love it) but it is also freestanding and will never collapse.
Jennifer, i realized a long while ago that taking two steps forward and then three steps back is often just a natural part of training. especially true (IMHO) when dealing with aggressive and nerve issues! i don't even blink an eye anymore when i have to step back in training to the last place in training where all was well!
after all, what was so wrong with the place in time where you were thrilled with Teagan's most subtle improvements? just go back to being super careful and watchful with her (as it appears you have) and take pride in the small successes!
stepping back does NOT mean you have failed Teagan in any way...
