Can an allergy show up with only 1 foot being itchy?
Its just his right rear foot. It is the only one showing that rusty looking fur between his toes.
This just started yesterday evening. We have been on vacation in Florida since Saturday, which leads me to believe it is probably something environmental here that he isn't used to. I could be wrong, though, and thats why I asked.
It isn't bothering him all the time. It is only bad enough that he licks it every few hours, but when he does lick, it is a marathon.

Can you look carefully between the toes for a bite, or something in there? Licking can mean something stuck or a wound as easily as it can mean itching. And the dog could be doing it whenever he's not distracted by activity, food, etc.
I have heard of dogs presenting that way (one back paw) with atopy, but my own not-inconsiderable allergy experience has been that front paws (more often both) are more common.
I'd probably examine it carefully, then just watch and see if I needed to try an antihistamine and a topical to try breaking a cycle.
He is still gnawing at the 1 foot every now and then. I can't find anything other than what he has done chewing and licking it.
but.............
I did find that nasty little b@$tard of a flea that was making him chew the backs of his rear legs. I looked, and looked, and looked and could only find the one flea.
