Hi Everyone, I'm really impressed with the discussion board here. Very active and informative.
I needed some help from experts here in reading my puppy and perhaps rate the chances of me finishing her in SCH.
She is now 8 months old working line female GSD. I got her when she was 4 months. Then very hyper bites at pants, real jumper and bites at clothe. This goes on for many months and had now lessen to a degree of just jumping once when released from kennel. This was stopped/lesson with motivational method of prey and food reward when she doesn't jump.
Prey drive I would rate as just fair, I used ball for training. She is intense for 7-8 tries and after that will slow down and wait for the ball instead but will occassionally try to get a go at it. Would have preffered a higher prey drive dog.
High treshold for pain as tested when 4 months old. The pain test done where she yelps after a very hard nip at the web of her feet but stay on looking at me intently without going away.
Gun test passed without effecting the drive n focus.
Drop test at 4 months done where she went to investigate the noise without any fear problems and come back for more bites.
The whole littermates and kennel mates barks by now but not her. She rarely barks except for a new toy dog recently sent into the kennel for training. Appeared to be very strong nerved dog.
During ball drive session, she will usually snare (bare the teeth) before going for the ball. No growling. What does this tells me? She counters well with rare occassions of head shaking. Grip is good.
Dominant dog as she controlls most of the other kennel mates. We did an experiment where we let out another littermates together with a 2 yr old male and they just strolled along, we tried also the littermate with another adult toy poodle with same results but when we released my puppy with any other dog she will play bite with the others, not seriously but much like small puppies. The trainer says that although at 8 months old she still acts like a 4 month maturity. What do you think?
She is being trained by professional and worked every day 2-3 times daily on prey work, basic bite work and some basic obedience with food like sit, down and push heeling with food alternating with ball. Kennel borded and all are having seperate cell.
Trainer's report is that she is a stubborn dog and slow learner. Very High nerved, good temprement, will have trouble with retrive and out if not trained from now.
This is my first working dog and also interest in SCH. My past experience are with house pets on motivational method. Please tell me what you think.

When the dog is confused, blame not the dog but shoot the handler.
