I won one of these in an auction. I wanted it for a senior with disk problems and severe arthritis.
This was the best acquisition ever.
We have foggy mornings in summer here, and he gets out of his bed and eats, goes outside, etc., and then warms up his hips and back on the pad.
He knew what to do within ten minutes of my plugging it in and taking him to it.
He will lie with his hips on and his upper back and head off, or on one side, or with his whole spine on ---- it's as if he read some instruction booklet.
I leave it plugged in all morning and evening when it's cool.
When he gets off of it after 1/2 hour or so in the mid-mornings, he is obviously less stiff and obviously rising with less effort.
I know that it's August and in much of the country a heating mat sounds insane, so I'm going to remember to post again in October or November, because I wish now that I had bought this years ago, for every senior with OA I have had.

I must wholeheartedly agree. I picked up one of these mats for the dog kennel last year and it was amazing to see the difference in how the single coated dogs felt about sleeping in their kennel and dog house. I'll be getting more of these when they're back in stock in the fall.
I'll also be using this with the litter of pups I'm expecting this fall.
