No tears for this situation. (although ALyssa, that was a sad poem, writing)
I am now an "official" foster home for this girl Sonja and for the Mississippi Valley GSD Rescue. Will home for emergency or immediate situations at this time.
Sonja really is a great companion animal and will make someone very happy for a long time. Having her here is fine though. She's done excellent with introduction to the Huck Finn pup and I'm glad he's having this good experience too.
I did go thru a *bit* of, lets call it a "wriggle", in my hopes that MAYBE she could train in schH with her prey drive. Well. Thankfully, my training director reminded me to think with my head and not my heart. That did it for me in getting serious about finding this wonderful girl a home. Sticking to my goals and will in the next year or so have my schH dog.
Oh, and on a side note, this girl's transformation on raw can not go unmentioned. Remarkable color change (red sable) and she took to raw like, well, a GSD takes to raw!!!
i think everyone whho is considering purchasing ANY pet (but esp a dog) should be REQUIRED to read J willis' essay, then go home for 48 hrs b/f completing the transaction. that one always makes me (at least) tear up.

Sonja has been adopted! Just last night she went off with her new family. What a joy! She was quite easy to get attached to...but I stuck to my guns and goals. (need icon for pat on my back)
