So Kota is approx 9 yrs old. I have the SMALLEST freezer EVER so we cannot do raw right now. He eats innova, and gets rmb 2-3 times per week. He eats 1 cup in the am, and 1/2 cup in the pm or his rmb. Is this enough? He is 55 lbs, and I think the ideal weight. I can feel his ribs and clearly see a waist. I have fed him more (2 1/2 - 3 cups) but he gains a lot of weight.
My big worry is the amount of protein. He gets 3-4 miles daily run/walk and on the weekends he gets anywhere from a 5-10 mile hike. Is this enough for him? Should he be getting any supplements (other than glucosamine + chondroiton)?

Thanks!
Once again , the cups and the package directions are not the gold standard. The dog's trim figure is! If he was not receiving enough food, then he would not be maintaining his proper weight.
By RMBs, you mean chicken backs or necks? Or quarters?
I assume that he gets fish oil and E, right? Live-culture unsweetened unflavored yogurt would be good too, IMO. It's loaded with protein and has a calcium ratio similar to RMBs.
his bones are from our local sheep farm. I am not sure what 'part' they are but they've got a good amount of meat on them (lean) and bones that he can crunch up. He also gets yogurt on occasion (cleans my flavored 'natural' yogurt containers as well as gets his own yogurt, cottage cheese and eggs).
Should I feed him additional fish oil and e? It's already in his kibble.
My 55 lb female Australian Shepherd mix gets 1 cup of Canidae kibble per day, plus a few treats here and there. My 50 lb male Catahoula/Husky mix gets 1.5 cups, my 65lb male Catahoula gets 1.5 cups and my 65 lb male mix breed gets about 2 cups (he's still growing at 11 months old).
The dog in your sig looks good and I would not give him any more food. Never go by what is on the bag or what the person in the pet food store tells you.
I have found it helpful to buy a smaller dog bowl, so you feel as though you are feeding more.
Connie good to know!! I'm heading to whole foods tonight, so I'll pick some up.
Angela, good to hear!! I felt I was underfeeding him by a LOT. All my friends dogs (I know, not the same) feed so much more, so I was a little concerned.
Tonight's dinner: butcher shop bone and fish oil + e ...mmmmmm
