do puppies normally change colour as they grow,i have a black and tan, seems his colour is fading and their are a lot of grey hairs down his back...
he was completetely black on top until about4.5 months, also at what age do they malt/or lose hair?do females shed hair more than males?
Yep, GSDs change colors constantly from puppyhood to adulthood.
It's more common in sables, but other coats do it too.
Danke has gotten much darker as she has aged, but she has also developed a bit of a light colored cape over her shoulders, and some red on her ears and hind legs.
Some dogs shed year round, some seasonally, and many females shed as they come into heat.
I recommend the FURminator to deal with GSD coats. I use it weekly and have zero shedding issues.
my next puppy is a black gsd,i'm getting it from one of the breedes at our club, hope he turns out looaking like carbon, most beautiful gsd i ever saw(saw him somewhere here)i might just name her carbon too!
